Safety First

Meadow Construction Ltd. is committed to the protection of its employees, its property, the public, and the environment from accidental loss.

In fulfilling this commitment to protect both people and property, management will provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements. We will strive to eliminate or reduce any foreseeable hazards which may result in; property damage, accidents, personal injury, or illness.

Accidental loss can be controlled through good management in combination with active employee involvement. Safety is the direct responsibility of all managers, supervisors, and employees.

All employees will be equally responsible for minimizing accidents within our facilities. Safe work practices and procedures will be clearly defined in the Safety Manual for all employees and subcontractors to follow.

All management functions will comply with company safety requirements as they relate to planning, operation, and maintenance of facilities and equipment. All employees will perform their jobs properly in accordance with established procedures and safe work practices.

Environmental Policy

Meadow Construction Ltd recognizes environmental stewardship as one of our guiding principles and a key component of sound business performance. We are committed to providing quality service in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimizes our potential impact on the environment. We will operate in compliance with all relevant environmental legislation and we will strive to use principles of sustainability and environmental best practices in all that we do.

We will:

  • Integrate the consideration of environmental concerns and impacts into all of our decision making and activities, including; project estimation, field supervision, and safety programs.
  • Promote environmental awareness among our employees and encourage them to work in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Promote efficient use of energy, materials, and resources throughout our operations both in the field and office settings.
  • Minimize unnecessary use of hazardous materials and products, seek substitutions when feasible, and take all reasonable steps to protect human health and the environment when such materials must be used, stored, and disposed of according to WHMIS guidelines and applicable legislation.
  • Where possible, purchase and use environmentally responsible products that have been selected based on criteria including; reduced energy and/or water consumption, low toxicity or environmental hazard, durability, use of recycled materials, and ability to be recycled, refilled or refurbished at end of life.
  • As required by legislation and where significant health, safety or environmental hazards exist; develop and maintain appropriate emergency, spill response, and environmental management plans.
  • Strive to continually improve our environmental performance by periodically reviewing our environmental policy in light of our current and planned future activities.
